If the recent appearances of our Bollywood beauties are to go by, then green seems to be the ‘in-colour’ these days. From Sridevi to Neha Dhupia (while the former chose to make an appearance in a dazzling green jumpsuit, the latter wore a layered frill skirt), the stars seem to have taken quite a liking towards green and its variations. Joining the league are Deepika Padukone and Malaika Arora, who wore emerald green numbers, interestingly, both by the celebrity designer Monisha Jaising.
The Padmavati actor chose to go for a metallic sheen pantsuit with a plunging neckline but one look at her and you would see almost everything going downhill from there. From the make-up to the tacky outfit with bell-bottomed pants, it is an unwelcome change from her otherwise impressive sartorial choices. Styled by Shaleena Nathani, Padukone chose to pair her poison ivy lamé suit with straight hair, pulled back at the closing of the MAMI Film Festival in Mumbai. She accessorised with Saint Laurent studded drop-earrings and gold shoes. She chose to go for a nude lip-colour that really did not gel well with her look.
While Padukone has earlier carried off Jaising outfits with much aplomb, this seemed carelessly put together.
Arora, who has more often than not set temperatures soaring with her fashion choices, did not disappoint this time either as she chose to step out in an off-shouldered emerald green number with retro-styled hair and pointy heels. With Saint Laurent earrings from Viange and nude Gianvito Rossi pumps. While it is difficult to pull off the colour because it could get too much on the eyes, with make-up complimenting her overall appearance, Arora takes the cake here.
