Preity Zinta broke up with her former boyfriend Ness Wadia on an ugly note. The actress had alleged that she was molested and verbally abused her at Wankhede Stadium during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match. Fours years after the incident took place, a chargesheet was filed yesterday against the Wadia under Indian Penal Code sections 354 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).A 200-page chargesheet was submitted in the court of the chief metropolitan magistrate yesterday. Thereafter, Wadia, who owns IPL team Kings XI Punjab along with Preity, was granted bail on the personal surety of Rs 20,000.
The incident, according to Preity had taken place on May 30, 2014. In her complaint, she said that he got infuriated seeing her sitting in the Garware Pavilion. Wadia allegedly abused her then even after she had changed her seat.
Furthermore, she also said that she had been in a relationship with him for five years and he continued to assault her.
Preity is now married to American businessman Gene Goodenough for about two years now.
