Kashmir : Two teenage boys from Kangan Shuns militancy on Parent’s appeal

Two boys from Kangan area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, who had gone missing and later updated their pictures carrying a hand grenade over social media, have today surrendered before army’s 55 RR in Pulwama. According to reports the boys Suhail Ahmad Dar son of Bashir Ahmad Dar a class 10 student and Arif Ahmad Dar son of Bashir Ahmad Dar a class 9 student had gone missing after offering Friday prayers at the local mosque in Kangan. Subsequently the two of them had uploaded their pictures over Facebook, carrying a hand grenade.

However; today the boys returned to the mainstream and to their families, who in turn presented them before the army officials at the 55 RR camp, in the locality. The army has assured the boys every help in their Endeavor to return to the mainstream and assured that no cases will be pursued against them. The boys have handed over the hand grenade to the army as well. The officials at the 55 RR camp reiterated that anyone who wants to shun violence and come back will be provided a dignified exit into the mainstream from violence.
