Office Of Profit: AAP Terms Ram Nath Kovind A ‘Rubber Stamp President’

After the President approved disqualification of 20 AAP MLAs for holding offices of profit, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has lashed out at President Ram Nath Kovind. AAP leader Ashutosh on Monday took to Twitter and slammed Ram Nath Kovind for being a ‘rubber stamp’.

“Hope Mr President, Sri Ram Nath Kovind knows that K R Narayanan acted as the guardian of the constitution, had conurage of conviction to return the recommendations of the cabinet not once but twice. He was not a rubber stamp President, was a working president, a great president (sic), “ wrote Ashutosh.

Meanwhile, Kapil Mishra replied back to AAP’s remark on President Kovind with a tweet. “Hope Mr CM Kejriwal knows that Lal Bahadur Shashtri Ji had the courage and conviction to resign after one death. Advani Ji resigned after one corruption charges…Kejriwal has become Most Vulgar Symbol of Corruption, Centralization of power and Anti India forces,” he wrote.

In a major setback to the AAP, President Ram Nath Kovind disqualified 20 of its MLAs in Delhi for holding offices of profit, a decision the party said showed constitutional authorities were behaving like “handmaidens of the central government”.

The AAP is going to move the Delhi High Court seeking a stay on EC’s recommendation on Monday.

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “There was some logic when God gave us 67 seats. The Almighty stood behind us in our every step.

Otherwise we would have been nothing… Just don’t stray away from the path of truth.”

He told a gathering in Najafgarh, “They are trying to harass us by all means… They got CBI raid done at my office, but after 24-hour search they only found my four mufflers. Our MLAs were arrested.”
