Google Play’s Best of 2017: Most popular apps, games, music, TV shows

With the year nearly drawing to an end, Google has announced the best and most popular apps, games, music, movies, TV shows, and books in 2017 on the Google Play Store.

Most streamed song:
American rapper and song artist Kendrick Lamar has taken the cake with his song ‘HUMBLE’ displacing English singer, songwriter Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of you’. Lamar’s ‘DNA’ ranks third.

 Most popular movie:

Animated fantasy-adventure film ‘Moana’ found itself in the top spot followed by ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ and ‘Wonder Woman’. All three movies feature the female protagonist in leading roles.

Most popular TV show:
George R.R Martin’s ‘Game of Thrones’ overtook animated science-fiction sitcom ‘Rick and Morty’, and ‘The Walking Dead’ to retain the ‘Iron Throne’

Most downloaded new game:
Nintendo’s classic ‘Super Mario Run’was the most downloaded new game of the year followed by ‘Bubble Witch 3 Saga’.
