After a controversial war of words between senior player Mithali Raj and coach Ramesh Powar, the BCCI has invited applications for the post of head coach of the Indian women’s cricket team on Friday. Powar’s contract was only valid till the ICC Women’s World T20 and after India exited the tournament in the semi-finals, it is thought that his contract won’t be extended after they invited fresh applications.
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) would like to call upon interested candidates to apply for the position of ‘Head Coach – Team India (Senior Women)’”, an official BCCI communication read.
“Interested candidates should send their application on or before Friday, 14th December, 2018 by 5 PM at firstname.lastname@example.org. The interview of the shortlisted candidates will be held on Thursday, 20th December, 2018 at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai.”
