IPL Auction 2018: SRH get Dhawan using RTM to scuttle KXIP’s party, MI retain Pollard by RTM

The IPL 2018 auctions has started in a frantic pace. And in the initial few bidding, RTM card has been used twice.

Sunrisers Hyderabad got stylist southpaw player Shikhar Dhawan using Right to Match card (RTM). He was sold for Rs 5.2 crores. His initial base price was Rs 2 crores. Initially there was hectic bidding for Dhawan who was instrumental in SRH winning the IPL in 2016. KXIP, RR and Mumbai Indians did intense bidding and finally KXIP managed to win the bid for Rs 5.2 crores. However there was a twist in tale. SRH used their RTM card to get Dhawan for Rs 5.2 crores. Preity Zinta was visibly flustered, probably taking a moment to process what exactly happened. However, for IPL 11, SRH will be rejoining the orange army.

Almost similar script was repeated for explosive West Indian batter Keiron Pollard. KXIP and MI started the bid for Pollard at the base price of Rs 2. Later, Delhi Daredevils joined the party and the bid was sealed for Rs 5.6 crore. However, Mumbai Indians took their prolific batter by using the RTM card. Mukesh Ambani lead franchise bought Polalrd for Rs 5.6 crores.
